Grindstone Stables is one of the oldest continuously run stables in Ruidoso. Located at 523 Resort Drive, Grindstone Stables has been in business since 1988. James Townsend started it as a way to make extra money in the summer when he wasn’t farming in Eastern New Mexico, making it a full-time job just a few years later.
